The Small Spirit Mask series has been retired with the final mask #3000 being sold at auction for $1000. All proceeds plus 10% were donated to Navajo Water Project. Chris began his journey as a full time professional artist in 2006 with the small spirit masks and everything grew from there.  Chris extends his deepest gratitude to all of his collectors and hopes the masks small and large continue to bring joy to all who encounter them.

The sculpture is created from primarily reclaimed steel. You'll find my signature Spirit Mask incorporated into most of the sculpture...some are free standing and others like the Story Totems and Spirit Messengers hang on the wall. I go out in search of the best pieces of metal...for the bases, the main structure and the overlays and inlays. Most of color comes from the hoods and doors of old cars/trucks/equipment...the color is so intense and I look for character in the finish...places that have rusted out naturally, dents, fender bends...Enjoy browsing, and email us if you prefer to commission a piece to fit your specific setting. 

Chris’ signature Shaman Series bring gardens and homes alive with welcoming, protective and spiritual energy. The Shaman sculptures are made with steel bodies, petroglyph cutouts and brought to life with a Spirit Mask made of patina on copper and reclaimed steel. The masks are sealed for outdoor or indoor while the bodies of the Shaman will continue to rust and patina with the weather. Stake in the ground or a pot or hang on the wall. Patina on Cloth explores the intersection of memory, ancestry, and dreams.
